The first visit

Your initial visit will include a review of your medical and dental histories. Please bring a current list of your medications and inform our office of any conditions
that may affect your periodontal care(ie, need for antibiotic premedication, use of anticoagulant blood thinners, prosthetic joint replacement, etc.).
The periodontal examination will allow for the collection of important baseline information which may include measurements of probing depths, mobility, recession,
radiographic(x-ray analysis) and bite evaluation. This information will assist in the establishment of a custom treatment plan for your specific dental needs.

Your general dentist has asked us to join their team to help his/her office in allowing you to achieve optimal dental health. At every step in your
periodontal/implant therapy, our office will be in close contact with your general dentist. This will help us plan and coordinate your care so your
treatment will proceed as smoothly and easily as possible. Following the "active" phase of treatment you will return to your general dentist for all
needed restorative and prosthetic dentistry. Although we will provide suggestions and recommendations, your general dentist (and you) will make the final
determinations as to any fillings, crowns, bridges, etc., you may need. We will also determine the most appropriate maintenance schedule for you. This
almost always involves both our office and your general dentist.
